The tragic aftermath of human carelessness travels around the world in this multi-narrative drama from filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu. Richard (Brad Pitt) and Susan (Cate Blanchett) are a couple from the United States who have traveled to Morocco in Northern Africa on a vacation after the death of one of their children has sent Susan into a deep depression. Richard and Susan's other two children have been left in the care of Amelia (Adriana Barraza), their housekeeper. Amelia is originally from Mexico, and her oldest son is getting married in Tijuana. Unable to find someone who can watch the kids, or to obtain permission to take the day off, Amelia takes the children with her as she travels across the border for the celebration. Around the same time, in Morocco a poor farmer buys a hunting rifle, and he gives it to his sons to scare off the predatory animals that have been thinning out their goat herd. The boys decide to test the weapon's range by shooting at a bus far away; the shot hits Susan in the shoulder, and soon she's bleeding severely, while police are convinced the attack is the work of terrorists. In Japan, Chieko (Rinko Kikuchi) is a teenage deaf-mute whose mother recently committed suicide. This despairing, confused girl experiences such rage and frustration that she causes her volleyball team to lose a match, and later yanks her underwear off and begins exposing herself to boys in a crowded restaurant. Chieko's father then struggles to reach past the emotional distance which separates him and his daughter. Babel earned Alejandro González Iñárritu the prize for Best Director at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi. If You Like this movie you can streaming Babel movie for Free HERE

Babel Movie Review

Alejandro González Iñárritu's latest sprawling, dispersed art-film blockbuster prompts a question: Does he just not know how to tell a story?
Mark Holcomb-Time Out New York

If misery is your pornography, Babel is your holy grail.
Dave Calhoun-Time Out

It's a great film made with style and heart and hope, a cautionary parable and an almost certain Oscar contender.
Roger Moore-Orlando Sentinel

The experience of watching Babel is undeniably riveting: Even if the film doesn't really lead anywhere, you still can't take your eyes off it.
Rene Rodriguez-Miami Herald

[Iñárritu] remains as entranced as ever by fate, loss and the interconnectedness of humankind, and I admire him for it. But Babel isn't the last or best word on that subject. It's just a lot of talk.
Amy Biancolli-Houston Chronicle

True to its title, Babel hinges on missed and faulty communications of both the personal and the cultural variety. It's a sweeping movie about characters who often suffer from tunnel vision.
Robert Denerstein-Denver Rocky Mountain News

Babel is a beautifully depressing film about responsibility, redemption, and ultimately that there are consequences to people's actions, regardless of who they are and where they live.
Matthew Pejkovic-Matt's Movie Reviews

The gimmick-machinery whirrs, but the human beings in it can't breath
Fernando F. Croce-CinePassion

Director Alejandro González Iñárritu and writer Guillermo Arriaga have fashioned their ideas with conviction and obvious care.
S. James Wegg-JWR

Babel...belongs to an unfortunately proliferating genre that might be called the higher kitsch.
Thomas Peyser-Style Weekly (Richmond, VA)

...language acts more as a means to distance and isolate us than aid in our understanding of one another.
Brandon Fibbs-BrandonFibbs.com

A lumbering, stitched-together mess.
Rob Gonsalves-eFilmCritic.com

Babel directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is one of the most compelling films to date.
Moira Sullivan-Movie Magazine International

an affecting examination of disconnected lives in an interconnected world.
Anton Bitel-Eye for Film

Smart, interesting to look at, and courageous, this is one of the best films of 2006.
Brian Webster-Apollo Guide

There is some hope, in Iñárritu's world, each of the characters may have a family and love, but this is shown to be, at best, a diversion against the real world, which is a much more intolerable, incomprehensive place.
Michael Wade Simpson-culturevulture.net

The kind of film that will echo deep in your soul.
Brian Tallerico-UGO

Alejandro González Iñárritu and screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga cap off the trilogy of films that began with "Amores Perros" and "21 Grams" with a rich and engrossing drama.
Cole Smithey-ColeSmithey.com

A better title for this film would have been "Murphy's Law," as Inarritu has a relentless grip on the banality of its tenets.
Michelle Orange-Reeler

Rubbish so pretentious it would make the folks behind Crash begin to blush.
Alex Sandell-Juicy Cerebellum

Babel es más que eso, es contradicción y antítesis, es la obra cumbre y gloriosa de un visionario en un retrato triste y dramático de nuestro mundo.
Luis Martinez-Cinenganos

An impressive, beautifully acted work with a tragic sense of life. The formality of its structure controls a seething anger.
Philip French-Observer [UK]

Well acted and handsomely photographed, but still extraordinarily overpraised and overblown, a middlebrow piece of near-nonsense: the kind of self-conscious arthouse cinema that is custom-tailored and machine-tooled for the dinner-party demographic.
Peter Bradshaw-Guardian [UK]

You can't make the same film three times and not expect people to carp. Go and see it with politically-minded friends and thrash it out afterwards over coffee.
Matthew De Abaitua-Film4
